Plans to build hundreds of wind turbines on Irish coasts given the go ahead

Hundreds of giant turbines are being planned off Ireland’s coasts to power an offshore wind revolution.

Seven massive wind farms at sea were given the green light to enter planning stages.

The vision to produce one quarter of the country’s energy by offshore wind would see turbines dotted about 20km off the coastline off Louth, Wicklow and Galway.
